Bricks
Item: Bricks
Price paid: $0
Yes, that's right. These beautiful bricks were free. They were edging a path in the owner's yard. He even pried them loose for us. All we had to do was load them in the truck while it rained and hailed. We were soaked and muddy by the time we were done :)
And here is the result. We are paving the space under our grape arbor. These bricks filled about a third of the space. Here's hoping we get a good deal on the other two thirds :)

Game Room
Items: Professional grade Foosball table and a seven-foot pool table (with accessories)
Price paid: $100
I am so excited about setting up my new game room in the basement, but for right now these two are staying in the garage. They are both really heavy, and we will need some help to move them to the basement space. The pool table came with 4 cues, a rest, the balls, a box of chalk and a brush for the felt. The Foosball table came with 5 balls and some replacement men. They are both in excellent condition. Now I need to buy a level, so I can set them up properly.

Blueberries
Item: Blueberry plants
Price paid: $6 each
I saw an ad on Craigslist for $6 blueberry bushes at Scenic Hill Nursery, so I did a little pricing research. At a local garden center, they were charging $12.99 for the same size plant. I really enjoyed my experience at Scenic Hill. They were very friendly, welcoming and knowledgeable. They grow their plants without pesticides, using only beneficial bugs. I already plan to return to buy some asparagus starts and will probably go there for tomato starts too. It is nice to support quality local businesses.

Media Cabinet
Item: Old cabinet
Price paid: $5
I bought this cabinet for the tv, stereo, and game systems. There was some water damage on top and it has no knobs. I sanded and refinished the top of the cabinet and then bought some new knobs at Home Depot. I also cleaned up the cabinet and made it shine :)

Prada Bag
My fiance was talking about how she wanted a big bag for her knitting, especially her plarn. I kept my eyes open and noticed an imitation Prada bag on Craigslist for $10. I think she really likes the idea of sticking her knitting needles in a Prada bag. After she saw the bag, she told me that it is going to be her everything bag. I'm pretty sure she liked it.
The Start
After I realized that I found my house, my car and many of the furnishings in my house on Craigslist, I decided to start a blog about the things I buy on Craigslist. I will be posting here whenever I make a new purchase with the story behind the item.
